Ceecorp

97 queens road

The 1920s era industrial building at 97 Queens Road was no longer useable in light of its failing asbestos cladding and roofing.  Ceecorp was contracted to first undertake the sensitive demolition works of the 2,300sqm and 8m high building, with careful management protocols due to the asbestos contaminants and occupied premises immediately adjacent the site.

The site is now home to a medium rise, mixed use development, which includes two basement levels of parking.  Ceecorp undertook the excavation of 19,600 cubic meters of material for the basement,  The excavated materials included clay and sandstone as well as materials contaminated by heavy metals and asbestos which required remediation and safe removal.  As part of the excavation Ceecorp also constructed the shoring walls with anchors, shotcrete and capping beam, which later formed part of the foundations of the new building.
